INFO

Meadow returns for number 9.

A small stage shared between a temporary community.

For leisure and for recreational pleasure. For the well-being of well beings.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Intimate performances with no overlapping set times from the cutting edge of contemporary music.

Sounds guaranteed to satiate all sonic palettes.
+
BYO friendly, but when your ice melts, Lazy will be open serving Nan's famous spicy marg and other liquid escape-to-the-countries from only the finest local brewers, makers and beverage creators.
+
Camping under the open skies that float above the lands of the Wadawurrung, Gadubanud and Gulidjan people. A special place where the plains of Western Victoria start to crinkle as they transition into the rolling hills of the Otway Hinterlands. A hot tip for those less familiar - our sunsets are spectacular and free for all to enjoy.

WHERE:

Bambra, 90 minutes South-West of Melbourne (20 minutes inland of Lorne). Address and directions will be mailed out to ticket-holders as the event date approaches.

Gates close at 9pm each night and no cars are permitted in or out of the event after this time. No exceptions.

Upon entry, every car will be searched for prohibited items (free advice: don't bring any). All tickets will be scanned (please save the ticket to your phone as mobile reception is patchy in the bush).

Valid photo ID is required for proof of age. Persons under the age of 18 may enter the festival with a guardian. See ALL AGES info for details.

CAR PASSES:

One car pass is required for every vehicle entering the festival.

All proceeds support the replanting of native trees and shrubs across the festival site and surrounding areas (via East Otway Landcare).

Please consider car-pooling where possible or jump on the Bambra Express from Brunswick, Richmond or Geelong.

PASS OUTS:

There is strictly NO driving in the festival carpark once your vehicle is parked.

There's a pick-up / drop-off zone near the entrance for short term car-parking. This is the only place you should park if you must leave the site whilst the festival is operating.

CAMPING:

Camping is separate to car parking, absolutely no exceptions. Upon arrival, you will park your car and then need to make the (very short) stroll across to the designated camping area. Anyone found camping in the carpark will be moved on, so save us the hassle.

CARAVANS / VANS:

Yes. The only time you may sleep in the carpark is if you're staying inside a van or caravan. No part of your camping setup is allowed to extend beyond the vehicle (no awnings or fold out tents).

FACILITIES:

Toilets? Yes

Showers? No

Drinking water? Plenty - BYO reusable water bottle!

Ice? For sale at the bar

Medical? We have an incredible team of friendly and experienced medical staff on site for the whole weekend, don't be afraid to say hi if you need anything at all.

VEGO / VEGAN / DIETARY REQUIREMENTS:

For the most part, we've got you covered. While we do all we can to cater to a wide audience, if you have specific or serious allergies, we'd recommend bringing your own supplies.

We are a BYO event, but please respect the limits below, and always look out for yourself and your mates during the weekend.

- A limit of 18 standard canned beers, or 12 canned pre-mixed drinks will be allowed per person for those entering on Friday.

- A limit of 12 standard canned beers, or 8 canned pre-mixed drinks will be allowed per person for those entering on Saturday

- Strictly NO glass

We also have our very own licensed bar serving local beer, Otway Hinterland wines and a selection of cocktails at friendly prices.

Ice is available to purchase at the bar.

PHONE RECEPTION:

Very limited. The perfect chance to disconnect.

SUSTAINABILITY:

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact as much as possible. Respecting the land and limiting our footprint is enormously important to Meadow. We are partnered with B.Alternative, an environmental service specialist to guide us toward our goal to leave no trace upon the pristine landscape that Bambra provides to host our festival.

All food and drinks at Meadow will be served with reusable plates, cutlery and cups. All you need to do is return your empty crockery once you're finished so that the circle can continue. Please BYO drink bottle to use at our water refill stations. There is no need to bring single use plastic water bottles to Meadow as we have heaps of H20 to go around.

Remember to bring your keep cup for the morning coffee too!

What else can you do?

  • Think twice before bringing any single use plastic on site
  • Car pool with your mates or use the Bambra Express Bus Service
  • If you brought it with you, take it home. It really is that simple.
  • Use bin bags provided and separate your recyclables
  • Dispose of your rubbish in the appropriate bins provided across site
  • No nangs. Not even one.

SAFETY AND WELLBEING:

Meadow is an inclusive festival where everyone should be able to feel safe and comfortable. Antisocial behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated.

If you need any help at all during Meadow, ask us! Contact our First Aid, Security, Info Desk and Bar teams directly for any assistance when you need it. We will do everything we can to help resolve your concerns quickly and professionally.

An on ground number will also be provided closer to the festival which you can use if you experience or witness antisocial behaviour that you wish to report.

ACCESSIBILITY:

Below are some details that may allow you to assess event and plan accordingly before arriving. Meadow takes place on working farmland which is not flat in most areas. The ground within the amphitheatre and campground can also be rough and uneven. It is kept mowed low but there are often exposed roots and undulations in the surface.

If you require improved access to our amphitheatre from the carpark and campground, please contact us ahead of the event so we can reserve an appropriate camping and carparking space for you in close proximity (approximately 150m) to amenities and the stage. Upon arrival, our gate staff will be able to direct you to these reserved spaces.

The toilets located closest to the entry gate and amphitheatre will be equipped with accessible and gender neutral toilet options.

Patrons with additional needs can choose to attend the event during the day and sleep offsite if that is a better fit. Let us know in advance, and we can arrange for this to be facilitated at the gate.

If you hold a valid companion card, this will allow entry to one ticket free of charge in addition to your paid ticket. Please contact us at info@bythemeadow.com to arrange a companion card ticket.

CASH OUT:

Limited cash out is available at the bar. We strongly suggest you bring enough dollars to get you through the weekend as most stalls will take payment with cash only.

VOLUNTEER SPOTS:

Opening soon. Keep an eye out for announcement on our socials soon when volunteering applications open.

PRESS/MEDIA:

Please reach out to Sarah directly via sarah@thismuchtalent.net

PLAYING AT MEADOW MUSIC FESTIVAL:

We do not take artist applications for the festival, but the opening slot is made available to one local band or artist from the areas surrounding Geelong, the Surf Coast and the Otways. Applications open soon.

PROHIBITED ITEMS:

If you were planning on bringing any of the below items, don't.

  • No illegal substances
  • No nangs
  • No generators
  • No gas cookers, fires or fireworks
  • No glass, at all

ALL AGES INFO:

Whilst we welcome parents bringing their kids, Meadow is not set up with children in mind. There are no child specific activities or facilities and there are no childminding services on site.

Patrons are encouraged to think carefully before bringing kids; the festival can be crowded, there is a loud stage with amplified music and everyone is in open country, camping with exposure to the elements for three days. Patrons bringing children should be very prepared to look after them whilst keeping in mind that their bodies may be more sensitive to the festival environment than their own.

Conditions of entry for persons under 18

All children must be accompanied by a legal guardian and must carry a signed Legal Guardian Consent Form at all times.

The Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 defines guardian, in relation to a person who is under the age of 18 years, as meaning a person who is authorised by law to manage the affairs of that young person. To be authorised by law, the person must be the minor's father or mother (parent), or a guardian. Older siblings are not guardians unless named/appointed in a guardianship order pursuant to the Guardianship and Administration Act 1986. Meadow requires that all guardians be at least 25 years of age.

  • Kids under 12 can enter the event free of charge. Kids 12 and over need a (full price) ticket.
  • Proof of age will be required for kids under the age of 12.
  • No children in the stage area after 9pm. All children must be back in the campground by this time.
  • All children will be given an identifying wristband with their guardian's mobile phone number written on it in case of emergency or child getting lost.
    • Guardians of children will also be given the same wristband for identification purposes.
    • Persons wearing guardian wristbands will not be served at the festival bars.
